Why So Serious?

January 12, 2010

We all have different sides to our personalities, sometimes serious and organised, and sometimes fun and carefree…There are days when only minimalistic fashion can do it for me - simple cut, sharp silhouette, black and grey colour palette. The rule is to keep it as simple as possible, no silly little accessories and colour splashes.

Luckily, I have another side too, a more fun-loving one, so I don’t end up looking like an Italian widow on most days.

This morning my grim side said, “Why not wear this sharply cut grey Zara Basic coat with a standing collar with some black boots and skinny jeans for some extra emphasis? Just to show them we mean business!”

“Oh Common, you joyless control freak, get a life!”, said my fun-loving side and promptly added this self made beret and a dotted bag, giving me a funky “ladybird” look, “you can look as professional as you like at work, but you’ ve got to have some fun on the way!”

You’re too chic, doll! I wish I could have looked half this put together when stomping through snow….
